“Trying to Break the Honky Tonk Fever” is Geronomo Trevino III’s sixth cd. It represents some of his earliest recordings up to his most recent. Beginning in 1989, Geronimo recorded four sides at Sound Masters Studio in Houston, Texas with legendary producer A.V. Mittelstedt. These songs were originally promoted on 45 records to radio stations and are on cd for the first time. The influence of honky tonk and traditional country music can be heard on seven tracts that were recorded “live” at Kendalia Halle in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. The last two songs were recorded at C.A.M. Recording Studios in Bulverde, Texas in the latter part of 1999.
